Sandra D. GlazierSandra D. Glazier is a principal in the Estate Planning Group and Center for Estate Planning with Lipson, Neilson, Cole, Seltzer & Garin, P.C., in its Bloomfield Hills, Michigan office. Glazier concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, probate and estate planning. Before coming to Lipson Neilson, she practiced with the Law Offices of Sandra D. Glazier, PC in Bloomfield Hills. Previously, she was a principal and practiced at the Schlussel, Lifton Southfield office in its Corporate Litigation, Domestic Relations, and Probate and Estate Planning departments. She has also served as a mediator for the Oakland County Circuit and Probate Courts, and been appointed as a mediator, arbitrator and guardian ad litem in family court cases.She has been designated as an AV Rated Preeminent attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and was named a “Top Lawyer for 2009 in DBusiness Magazine’s November/December 2009 publication.With over 27 years of family law experience, she has handled a multitude of complex divorce matters, involving a myriad of issues, including, but not limited to: (i) valuation of closely held business interests, (ii) the impact of pre-marital, gifted and inherited property, (iii) custody and parenting time, (iv) child support, (v) spousal support, (vi) equitable division of the marital estate and obligations, (vii) pre- and postnuptial agreements, (viii) division of retirement benefits, as well as (viii) tax implications. Glazier has been a member of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) since 1987, where she has served on the Family Law Court and Probate committees, as vice chair and chairperson on the Family Court Committee, subcommittee chair and representative for the Family Court Division for the bench/bar retreats, liaison to the Legislative Committee, and a member of the OCBA’s Public Advisory Committee on Judicial Candidates. Glazier has been a representative to the Second Invitational Michigan Bench/Bar Conference and sat on the State of Michigan Second Bench/Bar Conference Committee for the Third Invitational Conference. She is also a fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation, where she has served on its projects committee, and has received Certificates of Appreciation from the Oakland County Circuit Court in 1997 and 1999. Glazier has taught Valuation for Federal, Estate and Gift Tax Purposes in the Masters of Tax program at Walsh College. Additionally, she has presented at seminars on the issues of valuation and tax and separated versus marital property for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, National Business Institute, the Family Court Committee, and the OCBA. Glazier has been published in OCBA’s Laches regarding alimony issues and the 2010 Michigan Trust Code, as well as having appeared on the television show “Due Process” to speak on family law. Glazier is a Wayne State University College of Liberal Arts 1978 graduate and a Wayne State University Law School 1982 graduate. Glazier, a resident of West Bloomfield, is also active in her community. She has served on the local Jewish National Fund board, is currently on the Detroit board of the Jewish Theological Seminary, and is an active member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.
