Chen Wang is Of Counsel, and an international law specialist, with the law firm of Lipson, Neilson, Cole, Seltzer & Garin, P.C. She is an integral part of the firm’s China Practice. Because of her background and experience, Ms. Wang is uniquely suited to “bridge the gap” between the East and West. Ms. Wang is a 2013 graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where she served as Vice President of the School’s China Law Society. Ms. Wang also received a Master of Laws degree in 2009 from the University of Texas School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China (often referred to as the “MIT of China”).Ms. Wang is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and speaks conversational Shanghainese and Japanese. Ms. Wang’s family lives in Shanghai, and she often travels between the U.S. and China. Her prior experience includes clerking in the International Trade Practice Group at Bryan Cave LLP in Shanghai, working in the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and volunteering as a student attorney at the Dallas Bar Association.

From a corporate perspective, Ms. Wang works closely with senior partners of the Firm, who are widely recognized as top practitioners in their respective fields of specialization, including Business Transactions, Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Real Estate, Securities, and Tax Law. In these matters, Ms. Wang’s duties include analysis of and participation in negotiations for proposed transactions, and working on the consummation of deals, including drafting contracts, engaging in due diligence analysis, and general responsibilities on local, national, and in-bound transactions.

In addition to her corporate law responsibilities, Ms. Wang works in a wide variety of areas with clients who prefer communicating in Mandarin or Cantonese. This includes working on a range of matters from simple legal encounters (such as motor vehicle violations) to sophisticated estate planning and family law. By leveraging the Firm’s deep resources and connections within the Michigan legal community, including local courts and governmental agencies, Ms. Wang helps maximize results for the Firm’s clients.
