Phillip E. Seltzer Speaks at ICLE Seminar
Phillip E. Seltzer, partner in the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan firm of Lipson Neilson, Cole, Seltzer & Garin, was one of the featured presenters at a recent Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) seminar, held in Troy on December 6, 2005.
Mr. Seltzer, one of the featured panel speakers on the topic “Summary Disposition and the Rocket Docket: New Practice Strategies in the Appellate and Trial Courts,” discussed tactics, strategies and related legal issues concerning the preparation and filing of motions for summary dispositions with the trial courts of this state and the impact of recent changes in appellate procedure on trial court practice. He was joined on the panel by Thomas H. Blaske of Blaske & Blaske PLC, Christine D. Oldani of Plunkett & Cooney PC, Noreen L. Slank of Collins Einhorn Farrell & Ulanoff PC and Gary P. Supanich of Gary P. Supanich PLLC.
Mr. Seltzer practices in the areas of commercial tort litigation and professional liability claim defense. He is a member of the Business Law, Negligence Law and Public Corporation Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan and the Litigation and Tort and Insurance Practice Sections of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, and the advisory board of directors for the Oakland Community College’s paralegal program.
A graduate of Wayne State Law School, Mr. Seltzer was senior associate editor of the Wayne Law Review. He has authored and published articles for a range of legal and insurance publications, including ABA Magazine, Michigan Bar Journal, Michigan Defense Quarterly, Federal Lawyer, and The Professional Liability Underwriting Society Magazine. He also lectures on legal malpractice for the Oakland County Bar Association (2002-2005).
